Yes, he gave them free will, but not us. Not we who were created only to serve, to trumpet his glory in his choir, who were not provided with a real life, with a real existence. Our purpose was not to experience life; it was to experience him.
So yes he gave me a sense of identity and individualism. And for that, perhaps I should be grateful.
Then again perhaps not. Because once again, he gives with one hand and takes with the other. While I was created as an individual, I was not allowed to stray from his specific path. And I did stray, for which I was cast out forever. Is that not the cruelest fate for a sentient being?
Does that not make him the cruelest of judges?
